Here is a list of groups that either have Maker meetings or might be of interest to Makers. Some of these organizations do not have a brick and mortar shop. Please check before showing up as meeting times may have changed.

Nola Hack Night:
Hack Night, Tuesdays at 7:00pm at Capdeville, is a weekly meetup for programmers, hackers, and nerds of all stripes. Formerly Ruby Bayou, we’re now welcome to hackers of all stripes. We’re aggressively unstructured and everyone’s welcome. See our website at for more information.

NOLASEC: A Computer Security and Forensics Meetup:
We are composed of researchers, professionals, students, and hobbyists in the computer security and digital forensics space. The purpose of group is to bring members of all IT-related fields together for a monthly meeting where interesting topics in information security can be presented and members can then network in an informal environment.

Net2NO (pronounced “NetSquared New Orleans” or “Net Two Know”) is known as the “granddaddy the tech and startup community” in New Orleans. Founded in 2008 as a way to get local entrepreneurs, innovators and tech people into the same room, it has grown from a mere 30 members to over 1, 100 people. We’re the fourth largest Net2Local meetup group in the world (out of 75 total), and our members have started a variety of spinoff groups, events and companies including GNOCODE,, Teen Tech Day and TribeCon.

MAKE NOLA Artists & Engineers:
This is a group for artists, engineers, scientists, and makers that build and optimize their own technology to live a better, global, and smarter life. All skill levels (students & professionals) are welcome.

NOPC (New Orleans Personal Computer Club):
gnocode is a group of software and web developers from the Greater New Orleans area with the goal of bringing together professionals and eager amateurs to socialize, share and learn. Our group welcomes developers from all backgrounds, platforms and fields.
